Filmed for the 75th anniversary of these tragic events, this profound documentary is officially archived by Yad Vashem (Jerusalem), and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (Washington, D.C.). It uncovers a dark chapter of WWII, where 900 Jews—including the director’s own grandmother and two uncles—were cast into a well by Nazi forces. To this day, their remains have not been exhumed, making this work a vital act of remembrance and historical witness.
This film was already finished and even accepted by the Yad Vashem Museum when another witness to the events in Bobrovyi Kut was found. I created a second edition that included his testimony. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been translated into Hebrew or English yet. This version, sadly, is only kept in my personal collection. “September 16 in Bobrovyi Kut, 2nd Edition“
